Sustainability Tool

There are many benefits to becoming a more sustainable business and that’s why we have developed a free sustainability planning tool and policy guide to help you identify opportunities for your business.

Why become a sustainable business?

  • Save money on resources such as energy, water and fuel
  • Recycle or re-use waste
  • Reduce operational costs
  • Secure your supply chain
  • Be aware of changing legislation and environmental law

Where do you start?

There are two key steps you can take to start, embed and share your sustainability plans.

1. Build a sustainability action plan

Drive activity and change within your business by creating an action plan using our free online tool.

Access the tool by registering a few basic details to create an account. In the tool you will see high level objectives followed by goals and actions which you can select and add to your plan. There are tips to help you and options to set targets or add your own goals. You decide how much you want to do.

The tool covers a diverse range of subjects including:

  • Quick and easy ways to save money
  • Managing energy, water, transport and waste
  • Engaging with your employees, customers and stakeholders
  • Using sustainability to diversify or develop new business

The tool will save and store your plan and you have the option to download a copy in Word or PDF format.

2. Create a sustainability policy

Secondly create a sustainability policy that you can use when tendering for contracts. Many organisations including Government and Lloyds Banking Group require their suppliers to have a sustainability policy so be prepared and get ahead of your competitors.

The policy guide and example templates have been developed to help you but it’s essential that your policy reflects your business values, tone and style of communication. Also the action plan and policy should be linked and compliment each other.
